Ellen Isabell Dean-Rowe

Ellen Isabell Dean-Rowe, 89, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born March 11, 1927 in Crawford Co., Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Ott and Dolly Mae (Gregory) Dean.

On December 24, 1945, Ellen married Arnold Douglas Rowe with whom she enjoyed nearly 59 years of marriage until his passing on October 25, 2004. Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who will be remembered for her loving care for her family and her excellent cooking.

Surviving family includes children, Edward “Lee” Rowe, David (Dana) Rowe, Ronald Rowe, Arthur “Billy” Rowe, and Mary Lou (Mark) Dunlap; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Shirley Rowe; sister, Barbara Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Douglas Rowe; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Louis Tantarelli and Janet and John Green; daughter-in-law, Linda Rowe; brothers, Harold, Bruce and Bobby Gene Dean; and sisters, Reva Brown, Eileen Rogers, Orean Akins Hanson, Ruby Keller and Shirleen Beckon.

Services for Ellen, officiated by Pastor Florence McNutt, will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 14, 2016, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation for two hours before the service. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
