Edward Alan Lupi, 68, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Altercare of Navarre after a lengthy illness. Born July 4, 1947 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Donald Stanley and Dorothy May (Coverdale) Lupi.
After his graduation from Dennison High School in 1965, Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Math at Ohio University and then a Master’s degree from Liberty College in West Virginia. He was a math teacher for many years, having retired from Beallsville High School. He also owned and operated a fishing tackle business.
Ed is survived by his sons, Trevor and Ryan Lupi; several grandchildren; a brother, Donald S. (Natalie) Lupi, Jr.; sisters, Mary Ann (Daniel) Jasionowski and Virginia Kay (James) Palmer; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved hunting, bow hunting and fishing. Ed was also a talented musician who played the guitar and accordion, and composed his own music.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 5-7pm on Thursday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, followed by a Christian Wake Service.
