Edward Harris Edgar, 75, of Dennison, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Born December 9, 1939 in Fairpoint, Ohio, he was a son of the late George Edgar and Lucille (Applegarth) Edgar Ziemba.
Ed was a Tuscarawas County resident since 1965 and was a longtime employee of Consolidated Coal. He was proud to have done welding on the Gem of Egypt, which he called “The Big Bucket”, and was a member of the United Mine Workers.
On March 30, 1981, Ed married Dee F. (Staneart) Edgar with whom he looked forward to celebrating 35 years of marriage in the spring. He is also survived by children, Tracey (Tim) West, Brian (Dianne) Edgar, Brett Edgar, Eric DeVore, Danielle (Andy) Evans, and Isaac (Tami) Edgar; grandchildren, Charles Croy, Emily Edgar, Christina DeVore, Jordan DeVore, Johnathan DeVore, Mariah Evans, Drew Evans, Zach Edgar, and Zayden Edgar; siblings, George Edgar, Monica (Bill) Liggett, and Mike Edgar; and many nieces and nephews. Ed will be deeply missed by his family whom he loved dearly, especially his grandchildren who were the light of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sis Bailey, Shirley Glorioso, and Carol Abel.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service. A private family service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
