Earl M. Tinney, 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, after a lengthy illness. Born February 18, 1944 in Dennison, he was a son of the late James Martin and Mildred Pauline (Turney) Tinney.
Earl was a lifelong resident of the area who, since his youth, had worked in the local coal mining industry for firms including Valley Mining, Brown Auger, and Camco. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville.
On June 4, 1977, Earl married the former Dorothy I. Leeper who survives him. He is also survived by children, Ted (Meranda)Tinney, Tammy (Brad) Butler, Dorothy (David) Dague, Jasper (Lerma) Davidson, Alton (Patricia) Davidson, and Anthony (Jodi) Davidson; 20 grandchildren, John, Alexis, Megan, Logan, Lucas, Maranda, Bradley Jr., David, Desiray, Anthony, Valoria, Jasmin, Jessica, Nicole, Sean, Stephen, Marcus, Meghan, Ryan, and Phoebe; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Linda) Tinney, Janet Gates, and Anna Mae (Jerry) Hines; mother-in-law, Iris Kerschbaumer; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Louis Kerschbaumer.
Services for Earl, officiated by Rev. Larry Malterer, will be held at noon on Friday, November 13, 2015 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
