E. June Stubbins, 78, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia following a peaceful and productive life. Born October 7, 1934 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late John Workman and Dorothy M. (Addleman) Stubbins.
A lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County, June grew up in the Twin City area where she was a member of Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene in her youth. She is survived by her sisters, Barb Mangon and her husband, Ron, of New Philadelphia and Louise Dickey of Freeport; fourteen nieces and nephews; and twenty-nine great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Dickey.
June was a gifted seamstress who loved to sew, especially when making doll clothes. She was an avid reader who enjoyed passing her time at the local library which perpetuated her ability to solve word puzzles.
Services for June, officiated by Pastor Michael C. Travis, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery near Uhrichsville.
