Dorothy E. Milburn

December 24, 1923 — January 8, 2011

Dorothy E. (Kohler) Milburn, age 87, of Lock Seventeen, Gnadenhutten, O., where she resided with her husband Charles at the residence of Ray and Diana Milburn, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 8, 2011, surrounded by her husband and loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Born December 24, 1923 in Wainwright, O., she was a daughter of the late George Earl Kohler, Sr. and Gertrude Pearl (Reichman) Kohler.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles F. Milburn, Sr. to whom she was married on May 27, 1944; her eight children, Marlene (Steve) Sentz of Gnadenhutten, Sonny (Debbie) Milburn of Uhrichsville, Candy (Wayne) Howell of Tuscarawas, Randy (Darlene) Milburn of Uhrichsville, Diane (Rick) Sentz of Uhrichsville, Ray (Diana) Milburn of Gnadenhutten, Danny (Barb) Milburn of Wainwright, and Shirley (Paul) Creighton of Wainwright; her brother, Dennis Kohler of Dover; her sister-in-law, Cleo Kohler of Dennison; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie (Kohler) Robinson; two brothers, George Kohler and Clyde Kohler; two granddaughters, Radeana and Jennifer Milburn; and a grandson, Terry Lee Burdette.

Dorothy retired from Union Hospital after fourteen years of employment, but her number one priority was always caring for her family. She loved spending time with them and was especially delighted when her family was blessed with a new baby that she could dote on. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing and knitting in her spare time, and she loved family picnics.

Services for Dorothy, officiated by Pastor Dale Dickman, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to honor Dorothy’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 201 W. 3rd St., Dover, OH 44622.
