Dorothy M. “Dottie” Corra, 68, of Port Washington, O., passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O., following a period of declining health.

Born January 14, 1942 in Carroll Co.’s Perry Twp. near Perrysville, O., she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Madge Alverta (Marshall) Moore.

After growing up in the Carrollton, O. area and graduating from Carrollton High School in the class of 1959, Dorothy had lived near Port Washington for nearly forty-five years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. She had also worked for the Scio Pottery in her younger days. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and its Altar Society.

On April 23, 1960, Dorothy married Robert Lawrence Corra with whom she recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. She is also survived by four children, Rebecca Corra-Gordon and her husband, Rick, of Watervliet, N.Y., Robert Lawrence Corra, Jr. and his wife, Galen, of Gnadenhutten, John Corra and his wife, Tonya, of Delaware, O., and Christine Corra and her companion, Nick Park, of Chardon, O.; four grandchildren, Joshua Shepherd of Watervliet, Bobby and Alexandra Corra of Gnadenhutten, and Justin Corra of Delaware, O.; four step grandchildren, Thomas Lambert, Jared Tousley, Devon and Connor Gordon; a sister, Jean Scarlett and her husband, John, of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and George Moore; and five sisters, May Lattimer, Dolly Carroll, Tommy Cunningham, Florence Moore and Peg Hendershot.

Services for Dorothy, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Those wishing to honor Dorothy’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Heart Association and Right to Life.
