Dorothy F. Busch

Dorothy Frances Busch, 89, of Dover, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Park Village Health Care in Dover, after a period of declining health. Born September 17, 1928 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Lasut) Lokie.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She was a past president of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. Dorothy and her husband were the owners and proprietors of Busch’s Beauty, Barber Shop and Carryout.

On June 16, 1948, she married Karl John Busch with whom she enjoyed nearly 48 years of marriage until his passing on February 18, 1996. They are survived by sons, K. John (Nancy) Busch, Kenneth (Deanna Brame) Busch and Keith (Lindsay) Busch; daughters, Karen (Robert Merwin) Busch, Kay (Rick) Butler and Kim (companion, Jeffrey Feen) Busch; grandchildren, Patrick, Krista, Kerry, Jessica, Jennifer, Jordan, Jared, Keenan and Graham; and great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Tayelor, Hayden, Allie Kay, Jackson and Benjamin. The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Lokie, Andrew Lokie, Anna Cole, Paul Lokie, Ethel Franz, Steve Lokie, Helen Galli, Beth Loy, Josephine Dunnell, Pauline Lokie and Margaret Kobelt, as well as her parents and husband.

A graveside service, officiated by Father Tyron Tomson, will be held on Tuesday, December 19, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. No public visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church’s Memorial Book Fund. Dorothy’s family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Park Village Health Care for the excellent care they provided to her.
