Doris Mae Roberts

Doris Mae Roberts, 83, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, after a period of declining health. Born May 1, 1932 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Enos A. and Edna T. (Green) Dale.

On February 20, 1950, Doris married Donald Leroy Roberts with whom she enjoyed over 47 years of marriage until his passing on September 19, 1997. They are survived by a son, Donald A. Roberts and his wife, Jody, of Uhrichsville, and two grandchildren, Cody and Lexy Roberts, also of Uhrichsville. She is also survived by a brother, John Dale, and several nieces and nephews, including Diane Stull with whom she was especially close. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Dale, and sisters, Betty Stull and Mildred Coventry.

Doris was a resident of the Twin City area throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who had also worked at Timken Roller Bearings in New Philadelphia for over 20 years until her retirement in the mid 90’s. She attended Newport United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville and had a great love of horses.

In keeping with Doris’ wishes, a private family burial has been held in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover where she has been interred beside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
