Doris K. Bonanno, 69, of Dennison, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014 from Union Hospital in Dover. Born March 30, 1944 in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Albert “Deacon” and Betty Jane (Schoelles) Bonanno.
A 1962 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Dennison, Doris was a resident of the Twin City area throughout her life and a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church. She had a lengthy career within the local court system, having been the deputy clerk at the Southern District Court in Uhrichsville and, most recently, at the New Philadelphia Municipal Court for many years until her retirement a little over a year ago. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Doris is survived by her loving companion of 17 years, Jerry Sell of Dennison; son, Bryan Davis of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Alisa Davis of Dennison; granddaughter, Mya Hanks of Dennison; sister, Jo Ann (Dan) Markin of Ft. Mill, S. Car.; nephew, Dan (Marci) Markin of Philadelphia, Pa.; and niece, Lindsey (Michael) Scheumeister of Charlotte, N. Car.
Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. She will be interred with her parents in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
