Doreen S. Parrish

Doreen S. Parrish, 54, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, moved on to be with the good Lord on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from Twin City Hospital in Dennison, having recently rededicated her life to Christ. She was born in Dennison on January 9, 1957, a daughter of the late Conrad Lee and Nancy Lou (Waltz) Hanks.

A lifelong resident of the area, Doreen had worked for Barbour & Co. and Pangrazio’s for a number of years, in addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. The time that she spent with her family brought her great joy, especially when she was with her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Dennison.

Doreen will be sadly missed by her children, Mike Parrish and his fiancee, Serenity, of Newport and Missy Knight and her husband, Jason, of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Jonathan and Brooke Howard, Cameron Parrish, Kevin Lillie II, Brandi and Kacie Knight, and Clayton Parrish; companion, Mark Edwards of Uhrichsville; siblings, Rodney Hanks and his wife, June, Cindy Crossan and her husband, Bill, and Marcie Hanks and her companion, John, all of Uhrichsville, Diane Fitzgerald and her husband, Bob, of Mansfield, and Bobby Hanks of Uhrichsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and her former spouse, Kevin Parrish of Fry’s Valley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bret Allen Knight.

Services for Doreen, officiated by Rev. Bob James, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Doreen’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
