Dora L. Samples

Dora L. Samples, 67, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 28, 2011 after a battle with cancer. Born April 27, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Samples and Josephine Mae (Williamson) Samples Clark.

Dora had recently returned to Uhrichsville after living in Elkview and Charleston, W. Va. for the past seventeen years. She is survived by a sister, Edna Streeter of Uhrichsville; a dear sister-in-law, Gayle Samples; a brother-in-law, Alfred Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Kathy Leeper with whom she had resided, Mary Streeter, Jonathon Streeter, Monika McCune, Gina Blackshire, Paul Samples Jr., and Woodrow Charles Samples. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather who raised her, Leland “Gabe” Clark; a sister, Mary Jones; two brothers, Charles and Paul Samples; and an infant brother, Isaac.

Services for Dora, officiated by Pastor Milo Baker, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Feedspring Cemetery near Uhrichsville. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Dora’s family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621-1269 to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
