Donna J. Quinn

Donna JoAnn Quinn, 69, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Born March 11, 1945 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of Helen (Garner) Lanning of LaGrange, NC and the late Walter O. Lanning.

A resident of Kinston for 20 years, Donna was formerly a Twin City resident and was a 1963 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. She was a great lover of animals and the outdoors who enjoyed fishing and spending special times at the pond.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by four daughters, Connie (companion, Bill Betts) Reese and Shelly (companion, Kevin Renicker) Parrish of Uhrichsville, Tammy (James) Markwell of Bowerston and Beth (Nathan) McIntyre of Dennison; grandchildren, Kassi Blackwell, Spc. Cody Reese, Danielle Greenwood, Justin Parrish, Tyra Armstrong, Tristan Armstrong, E-4 SrA Kiley Everett and Cole Tantarelli; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glen (Donna) Lanning of LaGrange; sister-in-law, Molly Lanning of Kinston; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her loving companion and soul mate, Michael Tarrant of Kinston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Quinn, and brother, Wayne Lanning, as well as her father.

Services for Donna, officiated by Pastor Michael C. Travis, will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 19, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am on Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
