On August 19, 1967, Don married Marilyn L. (Wells) Garrett with whom he looked forward to celebrating 56 years of marriage this summer. He is also survived by their daughter, Michele (Steven) Brick; son, Ryan Garrett; grandchildren, Brandon Garrett, Drew and Alexa Brick, Morgan (Zeb) Fisher, and Danielle and Carter Garrett; and great-grandchildren, Ella and Grayson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Garrett; brothers, Harold, James, Bill, and Louis "Henry"; and sisters, Bonnie, Lurlene, Estelle, and Mary Kay.

His funeral will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where his family will receive callers for two hours prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
