Donald E. "Red" Huston

Donald E. “Red” Huston, 77, of Uhrichsville, was called home to the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2015 from the Cleveland Clinic. Born October 7, 1937 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Donald G. and Helen Jean (Dyson) Huston.

Red was a proud Twin City resident throughout his life and was a graduate of Dennison High School in 1955. He served his country in the Army in the late 50s before beginning his 29 year career at Associated Grocers. In retirement, he was the home deliveryman for Twin City Pharmacy for many years and will be warmly remembered by many for his kind-hearted nature. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for the Indians, Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Elks, as well as the American Italian Club in Dennison. Red was a devoted member of Park Christian Church in Dennison for most of his life.

On June 5, 1964, Red married the former Mary Jane Pfeister with whom he enjoyed 34 years of marriage until her passing on July 22, 1998. They are survived by a daughter, Jackie (Raymond) Moulton; sons, Kevin (fiancée, Mia Miller) Huston, Scott Huston, and Troy (Michele) Huston; grandchildren, Heather (Kevin), Mecca (fiancé, Brian), Cael, Stasha (fiancé, Jagger), Reily, Ethan, Grace, and Kaylee; great-grandchildren, Drake, Meadow, Ali, and Arabella; an honorary grandson, Bryson German; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Huston, and a sister, Sandra Cox.

Services for Red, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at noon on Saturday, August 1st, in Park Christian Church in Dennison. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Christian Church.
