Donald E. Jackson

Donald E. Jackson, 83, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away with his family at his side on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, Ohio. Born March 11, 1943 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Kenneth Rowland “Kenny” Jackson and Margaret Jean (née Florio) Jackson-Thompson.

On September 24, 1960, Don married the former Margaret Lucille “Peggy” Armstrong with whom he enjoyed over 35 years of marriage until her passing on December 4, 1995. They are survived by their three daughters, Cindi S. (Gary) Bernard, Melissa “Lisa” (Carl) Hensley, and Dawna Walton; grandchildren, Donald Lee (Joanne) Bernard, Gary Lee (Krista) Bernard II, Ashley Nicole (Doug) Hensley-Wallick, Carl Ray (Dannielle) Hensley, John E. (companion, UV) Walton and Matthew C. (Nikki) Walton; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Don is also survived by his sister, Judy Devaul, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny M. Jackson.

Don retired in 1999 after many years in the local clay industry, having been employed by Cantex and Superior Clay. He as an avid reader who also loved watching baseball – especially the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Services officiated by Pastor Kory Rowland will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Don’s memory by a donation are encouraged to do so to their favorite charity.
