Dolores M. Bollon

October 30, 1926 — November 5, 2009

Dolores M. Bollon, 83, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, O., surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health.

Born October 30, 1926 in New York, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Margaret Brassay and Jose Luis and Anna (Trepin) Garcia.

Dolores grew up in New York City where she was a graduate of Commerce High School in the class of 1945 before attending New York City Business School. After completing her education, she worked at Montgomery Wards Corporate Office for a number of years.

Dolores moved to the Twin City area in 1951, shortly before her marriage to Fred Bollon on July 21, 1951, who survives her. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved caring for her family. Dolores was the proud mother of a daughter, Diane Rafael and her husband, Rod, of Dennison; and three sons, Joseph Bollon and his wife, Barbara, of Uhrichsville, Rick Bollon and his companion, Pam, of Canton, and Michael Bollon and his wife, Stacie, of Dover.

Eight grandchildren, Anthony Rafael and his fiancée, Cathy Page, Chris Bollon and his wife, Natalie, Dustin Bollon and his companion, Sara Conrad, Aleigh Bollon, Lauren Castello and her husband, Derrick, Rachel Bollon, Andres Bollon and Ansley Bollon, and five great grandchildren, Blake, Jacob and Noah Bollon, Anthony Conrad-Bollon and Lauren Page, complete the family.

Dolores is survived by two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Dolly Contini and Marilyn and Jess Bilboa, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well. She will also be sadly missed by her dear, close friends, Jean DiDonato and Margie Zanon.

Dolores was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Society and had been very active in her community as a volunteer at the Twin City Hospital Coffee Bar for many years. She was also a former member of the Twin City Women’s Civic League and the Uhrichsville Lady Elks. She enjoyed crafts and collecting dolls and houses, especially enjoying her Charles Dickens Christmas houses. She also loved to read and enjoyed the many shopping outings with her dear friends, “The Golden Girls”.

A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.

In keeping with Dolores’ wishes, no public viewing is planned. Beginning at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, her family will receive callers at Immaculate Conception Church prior to the mass, as well as at a reception in the Dennison Knights of Columbus Hall, following the committal service at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in honor of Dolores' memory are encouraged to be given to Immaculate Conception Church, the Twin City Hospital Foundation or the Twin City Hospital Auxiliary.
