Dennis M. Meade

Dennis Morgan Meade, 61, of Strongsville, formerly of Tippecanoe, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in Brunswick, after a 6-year battle with cancer. Born December 27, 1952 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Morgan and Velma (Dickey) Meade.

Dennis is survived by his sons: Scott (Amy) Meade of Dennison, Shawn (Christy) Meade of Brunswick, Brad Meade of Strongsville, and Joshua Meade of Dennison; daughters: Ashley (Trevor) Thompson of Indiana and Brittany Meade of Dennison; grandchildren: Kylie, Jordan, Gabby, Brody, Atticus, and Kenadie; siblings: Darlene (Ross) Carey, Larry (Dollie) Meade, Mary Jean (Woody) Embrey, Marsha (James) Thompson, David (Roseann) Meade, and Tim (Lizzie) Meade; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A longtime Tippecanoe resident, Dennis was a former pastor at the Southside Gospel Chapel and Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He was also employed by the Uhrichsville Sunoco station for 15 years. Dennis was an avid reader who especially loved studying the word of God. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years and, most recently, was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Brunswick. Attending his grandchildren’s sporting events was a special joy for him.

Services, officiated by the Revs. Leonard Porter and Larry Meade, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Deersville’s Patterson Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tippecanoe Volunteer Fire Department.
