Dennis V. Colvin

Dennis Verne Colvin, 71, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Born January 9, 1955 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late Gale Lewis Colvin Sr. and Verna May (née Burroway) Colvin.

Denny spent his entire life residing on his family farm in rural Tuscarawas County and was a 1974 graduate of Claymont High School. He leaves behind his brothers, Gale Lewis (Kathrine) Colvin Jr., Calvin Lee (Ramona) Colvin, and Gary Charles (Geralyn) Colvin; stepchildren, Regina (Robert) Contrael and Lee Swauger; step granddaughter, Makayla Contrael; his caregiver and former spouse, Cynthia Colvin; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Honey Sue Huffman.

According to Denny’s wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service. His family will celebrate his life privately when they scatter his cremated remains at his home property that he loved so dearly. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663, in lieu of flowers.
