Delores June Greenwood, 73, of New Philadelphia passed away on March 2, 2014 at Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born February 24, 1941 she was a daughter of the late Homer Webster and Wilma Pauline (Bartholow) McBeth.
Delores worked as a nurse’s aid at the Tuscarawas County Home, Ember Complete Care, and other nursing facilities in our area. She loved to play bingo and work in her yard, although her greatest joy was getting together with her family for all occasions. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose and Tuscarawas V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Delores attended Dennison Church of God.
On November 10, 1984 she married Earl D. Greenwood who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her children, Connie (Dale) Fouts of Dover, Eva (Butch) Turney of New Philadelphia, Frank (Annette) Mathias of Uhrichsville, and Debbie (Adam) White of Bowerston; stepchildren, Jeff Greenwood of Dover, Vickie (Tim) Watson of Roswell, Sandy Kay Greenwood of New Philadelphia, David (Julie) Greenwood of Stone Creek, and Amy Greenwood of Dover; grandchildren, Jayson (Jessie) Haney, Heath Fouts, Lacey Mathias, Heather Fouts, Jacob White, and Collin White; great grandchildren, Shane Matthews, Zalea Hall, and Brayden Haney; many step grandchildren and step great grand children; siblings, Robert Eugene McBeth of Dennison, Donald Lee McBeth of Barberton, Nancy Brown of Uhrichsville, and Patricia Simmons of Uhrichvsille; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Lewis “Butch” Greenwood, Eleanor Malterer, Mary Lou Shaw, Winifred Gibben, Larry (Marge) Greenwood, Donald Greenwood, Melva (Austin) Beckley, and Linda Froman; and numerous nieces and newphews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Virginia McBeth, a brother, Harold McBeth, brothers-in-laws, Raymond Brown and James Simmons, and a stepson, Russell Greenwood.
Services for Delores, officiated by Pastor Brett Hughes and Pastor Larry Gross, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral home in Dennison. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (two hours prior) on Wednesday at the funeral home. In keeping with her wishes, Delores will be cremated after services and she will be interred at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at a later date. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to a charity of one’s choice.
