Debra Ann Cunningham, 62, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Born October 8, 1955 in Dover, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harold Craig and Mary Jane (Lawver) Cunningham.

Debra was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School before beginning a 40 year career at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia where she was a supervisor. She will be lovingly remembered for her gift of hospitality, always hosting gatherings for her family and friends where they would be treated to her delicious cooking. She also enjoyed the time that she spent with her girlfriends on weekend trips to Wheeling and going out with her “dining club”.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her son, Shawn (Rachel) Cunningham; brother, Daniel (Sue) Cunningham; sisters, Sandy Cunningham and Janet Sutton; nephews, Scott (Jennifer) Cunningham and Christopher Cunningham; nieces, Sarah Cunningham and Erica Albright; great-nephews, Benjamin Cunningham, Sloan Cunningham and Santiago Alvarado; great-nieces, Chloe Cunningham, Bella Cunningham and Piper Cunningham; friends who became family to her, Virginia Cannon and Tracy Glauser, along with their families; and her black labrador “babies”, Gina and Belle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vicky Cunningham; paternal grandparents, Frank L. and Lelia P. Cunningham; and maternal grandparents, Wesely and Mary Jane Lawver.

According to Debra’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
