Deborah L. Bevan

August 13, 1959 — May 21, 2026

New Philadelphia, Ohio

Deborah Lynn Bevan, age 66, died unexpectedly on May 21, 2026. She was known for her strong faith, sincere generosity, and incredible devotion to her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Barbara (Bennett) Bevan, and beloved grandparents, William and Dorothy Bevan and Carl and Elizabeth Bennett. She is survived by her loving family, including many extended relatives—beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving family includes her daughter, Erin (Joseph) Plessinger; grandchildren, Graham and Eliza Plessinger; sisters, Tammi (Derek) Trachsel and Molly (Ken) Krese; brother, Scott (Janel) Bevan; nieces and nephews, Dane Trachsel, Kori (Dalton) Dennis, Kayla (Jake) Stallman, Jeremy (Corrine) Krese, Alexis (Alec) Barker, and Ava and Wyatt Bevan; and great-niece, Laney Stallman.

Debbie especially adored her grandchildren, daughter, son-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Debbie excelled at and cherished her roles as Grandma, Mom, Aunt, and Great-Aunt. She remained close to her siblings and in-laws, enjoying frequent calls, holiday gatherings, card games, birthday dinners, and more. She was deeply grateful for the help and support, including IT support, of her nephew Dane and nephews-in-law Jake, Alec, and Dalton. Debbie delighted in assisting her nieces Kayla and Lexie prepare items for their classrooms and students and proudly celebrated her niece Kori every Nurse’s Week. Her nephew and niece-in-law, Jeremy and Corrine, fulfilled Jeremy’s promise and Debbie’s dream of attending a Notre Dame Football game in 2022.

She hosted an annual Christmas party, led a family tradition of a homemade game of Jingo, and treasured hearing her brother, niece Ava, and nephew Wyatt play instruments and sing Christmas carols. Debbie also served as the family historian, keeping memories alive through stories and pop quizzes to test the memories of others. She always enthusiastically danced to Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock and Roll, sang loudly to her heart’s content, and enjoyed reading, trivia, and listening to music. Debbie was famous for being a passionate “backseat” driver and an avid football fan, sharing a love of the game with her grandson. She also dearly loved playing restaurant with her granddaughter.

Debbie was a 1977 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic and was a supporter throughout the years following her graduation. Debbie worked more than 30 years at Mercy Medical Center, now Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where she was exceptionally dedicated to the patients she served. While there, Debbie formed cherished friendships with many who became more like family. She enjoyed several months of retirement, a highlight of which was going on the 250 Buckeye Train ride this spring.
