Debbie L. Barker

Debbie L. Barker, 52, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Union Hospital in Dover, O., following a two year courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 25, 1958, she was a daughter of Bessie A. (Quillen) Barker of Uhrichsville and the late James W. Barker.

After attending Claymont High School, Debbie enjoyed caring for and exercising world champion saddle bred horses. She also enjoyed working in her garden and planting flowers.

Debbie’s surviving family includes her mother; two brothers, Dale (Belinda) Barker and James A. “Jim” Barker, both of Uhrichsville; a sister, Sandra K. Reed and her companion, Tom Phillips, of Uhrichsville; numerous nieces and nephews; her feline companion, Lola; caregiver and friend, Patty; and special friend, Rachel Sanders.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 1pm at Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a memorial contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
