Deanna Michelle Shock, 55, of Beach City, Ohio, passed away on January 23, 2026 at University Hospital in Cleveland, following complications from surgery. Born in Dover, Ohio on October 18, 1970, she was a daughter of the Nancy Ann (Kohler) Tharp who survives her and the late Robert Lee Haney.
In her free time, Deanna enjoyed painting ceramics and going to auctions and flea markets. Her auction adventures led to her love of collecting oil lamps and Coca-Cola memorabilia. Furthermore, she enjoyed doing anything outdoors, including fishing and sitting on the porch. She also liked to bake from her late grandmother’s recipe book. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School and had worked as a nurses’ aide.
Deanna’s surviving family includes her mother, Nancy (Robert) Tharp; daughters, LeeAnn (Aaron) Baus and Katelyn (companion, Zack Nedrow) Smitley; grandchildren, Nicholas and Audrey Baus; siblings, Robert (Chris) Haney and Angel Burdette; brother- and sister-in-law, Daune and Jeanette Riffle; her companion, Dwain Morris; best friends, Terri and Dave Spencer; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Sam. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gary Shock whom she married on October 21, 2006 and just passed away March 8, 2025, and stepchildren, Bradley and Teresa Shock.
In keeping with Deanna’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
