David Arthur Whitford

David Arthur Whitford, 72, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at his home, following a long period of declining health, on August 28, 2023. Born June 1, 1951 in Hudson, Ohio, he was a son of Bonnie Jean (Hecker) Meade of Stow and the late Frank Whitford.

Following his graduation from Hudson High School, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country for 20 years before retiring from the Navy. After moving to Uhrichsville, he began his retirement career at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison where he was an x-ray technician until his final retirement. In his spare time, he loved doing arts and crafts, especially crocheting and needlepoint.

He will be missed by his surviving family which includes his mother, Bonnie Meade; children, Rhonda (Ben) Schick, Keith Whitford, and Suzan (companion, Doug) Jones; grandchildren, Danielle, Alysha, Chloe, Aryanna, and Gwendolyn “Gwen”; great-grandson, James Finnigan “Finn”; sister, Barb (Ernie) Brown; niece, Traci; and nephew, Kevin.

Dave's family and friends will gather at The Kitchen by Pangrazio's in Dennison from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, to enjoy a time of shared memories and refreshments in celebration of his life. All who knew and loved Dave are invited to join them. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association or any charity that assists low-income families with their medical expenses.
