In Loving Memory of David Jean Staneart March 16, 1938 – July 2, 2021

David Jean Staneart, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Greyeagle, California, on July 2, 2021, at 8:06 a.m.

David was born on March 16, 1938, in Dennison, Ohio, to Albert Marion “Nig” Staneart and Halsey Staneart. From the very beginning, David was a hardworking man who believed in staying busy, learning new things, and always moving forward.

Some of David’s fondest memories began with his father, Albert, whom everyone knew as “Nig.” As a young boy, David spent countless hours working alongside his dad. Together, they pinstriped cars, went fishing and hunting, and shared many adventures—including David’s first pet raccoon. He also enjoyed bottling lightning bugs, finding wonder and fun in the simple things in life.

After graduating from high school, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for seven years. His time in the Air Force was another chapter in a life defined by dedication, discipline, hard work, and a desire to learn.

David carried that hardworking spirit throughout his entire life. He attended college, became an electrician, and continued furthering his education throughout the years. His dedication and intelligence eventually led him to become a plant manager before going on to serve as a chief engineer at many hospitals throughout his career. He took great pride in his work, and his knowledge, determination, and ability to solve problems made a lasting difference wherever he worked.

But David was much more than his accomplishments and career. He was a man who believed in helping others. He was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors, friends, and anyone who needed him. He was always found doing something—working to fix, or something new to learn.

David was devoted to his significant other, Dorothy Woods, who survives him, and was a loving father to his daughter, Kimberly Nichole Staneart, who also survives him.

His family will remember him not only for everything he accomplished, but also for the values he lived by. David often said, “Your word is your bond.” He believed that a person’s word, honesty, and character were among the most important things they could have.

David never stopped working, learning, helping, or being curious about the world around him. His hands were rarely still, and there was always another project, task, or adventure waiting.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, lessons, laughter, and love. His family and all who knew him will carry those memories forward and remember the remarkable man he was. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 2 in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery. 

Rest peacefully, Dad. Your word was your bond, and your love will always be a part of ours.
