David George Reichman, 78, of Dover, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Ohio’s Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio, after a long period of declining health. Born September 11, 1947 in Dennison, Ohio, he was the last surviving child of the late Henry Robert and Julia Ann (Eckhart) Reichman and stepmother, Alice Stapleton – having been preceded in death by his siblings, Charles “Grinny” Grinstead, Larry “Cork” Reichman, and Judy Ann Nedrow. He was also preceded in death recently by his daughter, Lori Hill.
Dave was a lifelong area resident and a 1965 graduate of Midvale High School. He had a long career working in the foundry and as a forklift operator at Howden Buffalo (the former Joy Manufacturing). Dave was a longtime member of Dover Faith Global Methodist Church. He had been a member of Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post #7943, as well as serving as the president of the Coon Hunters Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, bass fishing, and gardening. Dave also enjoyed building houses with his brother, Grinny.
On April 12, 1975, Dave married the former Bonnie Jean Netting with whom he had celebrated 50 years of loving marriage this spring. He is also survived by their children, Andy (Page) Reichman and Jamie (Ryan) Stewart; grandchildren, Ryan (Kelsey) Hill, Kaden Russell, Kaya Russell, Brennen Reichman, Parker Reichman, Benjamin Stewart, and Jonathan Stewart; great-granddaughter, Charlee Hill; sister- and brothers-in-law, Diane and Kevin Marshall and Thomas (Michael Kurty) Netting; and many nieces and nephews.
According to Dave’s wishes, he will be cremated before being interred at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A celebration of his life, officiated by Pastor Shelly Nordine, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, at Dover Faith Global Methodist Church, 420 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, OH 44622 with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
