David Allen Colaner, Sr., 53, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy battle with many medical complications. Born June 26, 1962 in Dennison, he was a son of Charles Eugene “Chuck” and Norene Starr (Staneart) Colaner of Uhrichsville.
David attended Claymont High School where he was a gifted member of the Claymont Marching 100, playing a variety of instruments. Throughout his life, he continued to enjoy music and singing. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In recent years, he enjoyed attending Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship. David had been the owner and operator of Colaner Construction until an injury led to his medical disability.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 5 children, Ashley Busby and her husband, David, Anna Baker and her husband, Dalton, David Colaner Jr., Katelyn Colaner, and Jamie Colaner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Paula Colaner and Larry and Angela Colaner; many nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, Merianne (Smith) Gambs.
In keeping with David’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Tom Klaserner, will be held at 5pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in the Uhrichsville Christian Fellowship, 217 E. 3rd St., Uhrichsville. Family and friends may call at the church for an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
