David N. Bogue

David Newel Bogue, age 87, who had lived in Bolivar, Ohio for the past four years and was previously a lifelong Canton, Ohio resident, passed away at Aultman Compassionate Care in Canton on Saturday, April 5, 2025, after a period of declining health. Born January 9, 1938 in Canton, he was a son of the late Russell W. and Lucie J. (Kaufman) Bogue.

Dave will be most remembered as Grandpa with love for family and the enjoyment he had with his grandchildren, as well as for his faith. He retired from the Canton Bricklayer Union and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church while living in Bolivar. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a gun enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Annick Francois (Roussin) Metz, with whom he enjoyed 34 years until her passing on July 10, 2016. His brothers, Russell and Donald Bogue; sisters, Patricia Milliken and Marilyn Bonsky; and son, Jamie Metz, also preceded him in death.

He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his sister, Bonnie Bogue; children, Carole (Steve) Hatch of Colorado, Patricia Mills of Bolivar, Steve (Nancy) Metz of Minerva, Sylvia (Cliff) Elledge of South Carolina, Michelle (Joey) Miley of Bolivar, and Eric (Diane) Metz of North Canton; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, he will be interred beside Annick at Foxfield Preserve in Wilmot, Ohio without a public visitation or service. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
