David Carl Beckley, 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 4, 2020, while surrounded by his loving family, after a bravely fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born February 28, 1952 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Charles Emmanuel Beckley, Sr. and Jesse Vivian (Gatchell) Beckley.
A 1970 graduate of Conotton Valley High School, Dave was a lifelong resident of the area with the exception of the time that he served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Gradall in 2003 after 32 years of employment. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Scio and a life member of the N.R.A., as well as a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and the Dennison Knights of Columbus. Dave was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events. He also treasured the happy days he spent with his wife on vacations to Myrtle Beach.
On August 7, 1971, Dave married the former Anna Maria Alfano who survives him along with their children, David (Stacy) Beckley, Todd (Keira) Beckley, and Jaclyn (Cortney) Mullen; and grandchildren, Dominic and Jenasys Mullen, and Landon, Cole, Chase, and Avery Beckley. Dave is also survived by his brother, Donald (Terry) Beckley; sisters, Doris Titus, Pat Johnson, Judy (Wayne) Stull, Beverly (Larry) Webber, and Amy (George) Specht; sisters-in-law, Sandy Beckley and Kathy (Ralph) Alfano-Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Glenn, Orlo, and Edward Beckley; and sister, Faye Beckley.
Father Tom Gardner will celebrate the funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. In the interest of public health, no public visitation is planned. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Friends of the Homeless.
