Daniel A. Mccue

Daniel Arthur McCue, 77, of Dennison, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born July 9, 1938 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Lesley S. and Ruth Irene (Hilligas) McCue.

After attending Dennison High School, Dan served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A true patriot, he served for 6 years of active duty and 21 years in the National Guard, including a period of active duty during Desert Storm. Dan was also a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol and was active in the U.S.A.F. Military Auxiliary Radio System for many years.

On August 22, 1961, he married the former Jennie L. Metcalf who survives him, along with children, Dan (Karen) Bolton, Elaine (Bill) Lambeth, Paulette DeVaul, Chris (Jane) Hill, Jack (Polly) Hill, Melody (Dan) Keifer, and Faith Marshall; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Cathy) and Larry (Jo Anne) McCue; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 children, Bryan and Heather, and 7 siblings.

In keeping with Dan’s wishes, no visitation or service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
