Daniel Arthur Freed, 65, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health. Born December 26, 1955 in Dennison, he was a son of the late John William and Mary Elizabeth (Gallagher) Freed. Dan was a lifelong area resident who drove for Stocker Trucking for over twenty years until his health prevented him from continuing.

On December 29, 1982, Dan married the former Vickie Lynn McCulloch who survives him at their home. He is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Wayne) Woodard; grandchildren, Justice, Kadance, Maddox, Ariel, Maize, Micah, and Millie; sisters, Sara (Samuel) Butt and Brenda (Robert) Lee; brother, Richard (Betty) Freed; brothers- and sisters-in-law, William and Jenny McCulloch and Robert and Jennifer McCulloch; many nieces and nephews; and his dear canine companion, Soso. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Sharon Freed.

According to Dan’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. Pastor Tommy Miller will officiate a 1:00 p.m. memorial service and celebration of Dan’s life on Saturday, April 17, at Legacy Church in New Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his wife, Vickie, to help defray the cost of his medical expenses.
