Daniel "Bert" Bertram Romig

Daniel Bertram “Bert” Romig, 81, of Dennison, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born May 21, 1937 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Francis Edwin Romig and Marjorie Mae (Rhoads) Romig West.

Bert was a 1955 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a lifelong Twin City resident. He retired from UPS in 1995 after 30 years of employment and had served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. Bert was a longtime member of the 11 ^th St. Church of God in Uhrichsville. He will be remembered as a gifted musician who loved singing and playing the guitar. He also enjoyed repairing musical instruments, in his spare time.

On June 21, 1957, he married the former Wanda L. Sparks who survives him. He is also survived by a daughter, Amy (Lee) Luxemburg; son, Martin (Margie) Romig; grandchildren, Jessica (J.R.) Hecker, Samantha Luxemburg, Rachael Legg, Heather Luxemburg, Christopher Archuleta Jr., and Steven Archuleta; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Tre, Reiss, Emma, Aubrey, Grayson, and Lilia; sisters, Jean Miller, Barbara McCune, and Sally Jeandervin; many nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Wineman.

Services, officiated by Pastor Earl Miller and Pastor John Stevenson, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. After the graveside service, a reception in celebration of Bert’s life will be held where all of his musician friends are encouraged to bring their instruments and share their music. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
