Dale "Dolly" Estella Mcmasters

Dale Estella “Dolly” McMasters, 84, of Gnadenhutten, O., formerly a longtime resident of Fresno, O., passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Union Hospital in Dover, O., following a lengthy illness.

Born April 12, 1924 in Mill Twp. in Tuscarawas Co., O., she was a daughter of the late John B. and Alfarata (Gram) Hutson. The last of her family’s generation, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth G. Foote, and five brothers, John Robert, Daniel E. “Bus”, Charles H. “Jigg”, Rollin and Edgar Merlin Hutson.

Dolly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed doing puzzles and playing bingo, in addition to caring for her family. She was a member at Rush Nazarene Church.

On July 21, 1942, she married Lorenzo Francis “Tink” McMasters with whom she enjoyed nearly fifty-three years of marriage until his passing on April 27, 1995.

Tink and Dolly are survived by four sons, Robert E. McMasters and his wife, Florence, of Minerva, John R. McMasters of Tennessee, David Lee McMasters and his wife, Carey, of Newcomerstown, and Daniel L. McMasters and his wife, Cheryl, of New Philadelphia; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Sandy) Mangus of Uhrichsville, Mrs. Jeff (Sally) Houseman of North Canton and Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Luckan of Ambridge, Penn.; nineteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

They were preceded in death by a son, James E. McMasters, and a grandson, Richard J. Mangus.

Services for Dolly, officiated by Dr. Fred L. Wallis, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, in Rush Community Church of the Nazarene near Uhrichsville. Interment will follow in Rush Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to her family in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
