Craig W. J. Mcdermott

Craig William John McDermott, 70, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Born October 6, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Robert Harold and Juanita (Weiss) McDermott.

He was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton and later earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Kent State University in 2008. Craig loved to read and was a dedicated student for many years. Most recently, he had been employed by Express Packaging in Newcomerstown.

Craig leaves behind his wife, Mary Lou (Weimer) McDermott whom he married on January 11, 2011; brother, Jeffrey R. McDermott; sister, Nan McDermott; and two nieces, Michelle (Dustin) Yenick and Jasmine McDermott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Girard McDermott.

According to his wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. He will be interred in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Friends of the Homeless, P. O. Box 466, New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
