Conchet Marie “Chetty” Angelozzi, 89, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia after a long period of declining health. Born September 19, 1925 in Yorkville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Antoinette (Guzzi) Feri.
A resident of the Twin City area throughout her life, Chetty was a 1943 graduate of Dennison High School where she had been active in many organizations, including cheerleading and basketball. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Society, and she enjoyed playing Bingo to help support her parish and its school. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who had also worked at Hart’s Family Center in New Philadelphia for 17 years in the 60s and 70s.
On August 30, 1947, Chetty married Frederick J. Angelozzi with whom she enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage until his passing on February 14, 1996. They are survived by two sons, Daniel F. (Lynn) Angelozzi of Uhrichsville and Michael A. (Margene) Angelozzi of Tippecanoe; grandchildren: Ierlee (Jim) Wozniak, Danielle (Seth) Lurie, Alisa (Brian) Tobin, Michelle (fiancé, Justin) Angelozzi, and Joseph (companion, Kelsey) Angelozzi; and great-grandchildren: Tyson and Jackson Lurie, Marissa Wozniak, Kenedi and Riley Cesnak, Jonathan Fritter, and Kyler and Mikaela Tobin. She is also survived by a sister, Lena Hart of Dennison, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Lucas Young; brothers: Ralph, Anthony, and Joseph Feri; and sisters: Rose Lecce and Josephine Vinci.
Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10am on Tuesday, December 23, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Monday in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with a Christian Wake service held at 6:45pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Elementary and Community Hospice.
