Cleo M. Furbay-Hall, 85, of Canton, formerly of Uhrichsville, died Sunday May 15, 2011 at Aultman hospital following a sudden illness. She was born in Uhrichsville, on March 25, 1926, and was a daughter of the late Foster J. and Carrie A. (Plotts) Furbay. A graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1944, Cleo was also a member of Dueber U.M.C. of Canton, and had been a Dennison Canteen USO volunteer. Cleo had worked for Bowerston Shale Corporation, Penns Department Store, and retired in 1982 from Ohio Ferrell Alloys Corp after 35 years of employment
Cleo’s surviving family includes a niece, Sheryl (Bruce) Osborn of Massillon; a great niece, Allison (Steve) Miller of Massillon; a great nephew Geoff Osborn of Washington, PA; and great great nieces Logan and Peyton; many cousins; and a very special friend, Kathleen Schilling of Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Julianne “Judy” Furbay and a brother, Donald Furbay.
Services for Cleo, officiated by Rev. Harry Milligan, will be held at 12:00 noon. on Wednesday, May 18, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Those wishing to honor Cleo’s memory by a memorial contribution are encouraged to do so to either the American Cancer Society or their local animal shelter.
