Clarence H. Hooker, Jr.

Clarence H. Hooker, Jr. passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Lafayette Pointe Care Center in West Lafayette, Ohio. following a long illness. Clarence was born November 14, 1927 in Dennison, OH. He was the son of the late Clarence and Norma (Wells) Hooker. Clarence is survived by his wife Doris (Robinson) Hooker and his children Ron (Mary) Hooker, Rick (Ellen) Hooker, Sally (Bill) Parker. His grandchildren Randall (Angel) Emig, Nicole (Bernie) Rusnak, Ryan (Laura) Emig and great-grandchildren Alexia Lynn Wise, Randall Emig III, Kylie Emig and Kam Rusnak. He is also survived by a brother Dean (Pam) Hooker and sisters Norma Jane (Mike) Dorsey and Carol Ann (Jim) Marsh and many nephews, nieces and ten first cousins. Clarence was preceded in death by his sister Betty (William) Winters, and two brothers Jim and Carl Hooker.

He was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities and Newcomerstown. Clarence worked in the mining and trucking industries most of his life.

Clarence was a strong supporter of education. He was a former President of the Newcomerstown Board of Education and first board member representing Newcomerstown on the JVS Board. He was a York Rite, Knight Templar, Canton #33, a life member of Lone Star Lodge & Nugent Royal Arch Chapter in Newcomerstown, a member of Gebal Council of Royal and Select Masons. Clarence was also a 32nd degree Member of the Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite & Aladdin Temple Shrine in Columbus, OH.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 10th at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm with a memorial service and Masonic services following. All are invited to attend both services. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown, Ohio.

His family is indebted to all his wonderful doctors, nurses, and health care providers.

Clarence requested that donations in his honor be made to the Newcomerstown Emergency Rescue Squad.
