Clarence F. Burkholder, Jr. was born December 5, 1929 in Akron Ohio, graduated Garfield High School and attended Kent State University. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores, his daughter Debbie, and his son and daughter in law Rick and Chris. He leaves six grandchildren: Amy (funny face), Derek (Derrico), Emma “B”, Gracie, Bella (GI twins) and Raymond, who proceeded him in death. He has three surviving siblings, Bob, Roberta and Charlotte.
He and his brother Dick joined the Marines, where Dick was killed in Korea. Clarence went on to become active in the American Legion, where he rose to the rank of Commander of the State of Ohio and remained involved as a lifetime member till the end of his life.
While a resident of Hudson Ohio, he owned Truform Rubber Products and was a former President of the Hudson Rotary Club.
He retired to Tappan Lake where he enjoyed boating and water sports.
To his friends, new and old, who have enriched his life and came to mean so much to him, our family invites you to join us in celebrating the man who was our beloved husband, father and grandfather. On Saturday, Oct 31, 2009, between 1PM and 5PM at 86430 Beaver Dam Rd at Tappan Lake, together we will reminisce, give our thanks and give our final goodbyes to Clarence. Love Dolores.
