Clara Mae Jones

Clara Mae Jones, 83, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville. Born April 3, 1935 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Nellie (Hicks) Nelson.

On August 7, 1960, Clara married Arthur Paul Jones with whom she enjoyed nearly 35 years of marriage until his passing on May 21, 1995. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her sons, Arthur Jones (companion, Ginger Swaim, deceased) and Robert (Toni) Jones; daughters, Kathy (Greg) Ault, Melanie (husband, Ted, deceased) Tedrow and Joyce (Jay) McComb; grandchildren, Dawn Freeman (fiancé, Michael Jones), Dane Freeman, Ray VanFossen, Breanna VanFossen, Brittnee Tedrow, Siera McComb, Jaylin McComb and Brylee McComb; great-grandchildren, Maci Freeman, Makenna Freeman and Mason Freeman; and many dear extended family members, including step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Gladys Scott and Betty Carpenter, and brother, Robert Nelson, in addition to her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Immediately following the visitation, her funeral procession will depart for Ridgecrest Memory Garden in Dover where the Rev. Earl Miller will officiate her graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
