Clara R. Casimir

Clara R. Casimir, 83, of Dennison, O., passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, O., following a period of declining health.

Born February 23, 1926 in Dover, O., she was a daughter of the late Basilio and Benigna (Pace) Rondinella.

Raised in the Dover area, Clara was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in the class of 1945. Most of her adult life was spent as a resident of the Twin City area where she was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and its Altar Society. She was formerly active in the Twin City V.F.W. Ladies’ Auxiliary and the American Italian Club Ladies’ Auxiliary, as well as in St. Mary’s Quilting Group. She also loved to play bingo.

On June 26, 1948, Clara was wed to Reynold J. Casimir with whom she has enjoyed nearly sixty-one years of marriage. They were blessed with a daughter, Mrs. Joe A. (Nancy) Bourne of Port Washington; two sons, Ronald E. Casimir and his wife, Kathy, of Tuscarawas and Edward W. Casimir and his wife, Sue, of Dover; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Tony (Tiffany) Cipollone, John Bourne and his wife, Brandie, Shane Casimir, Michael Casimir and his wife, Lindsay, Matthew Casimir and his companion, Erica, Karla Bourne and her companion, B.J., and Cameron and Katie Sue Casimir; and five great grandchildren, Sara and Chad Bourne, Casey and Cael Cipollone, and Isaac Casimir.

Clara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who dearly loved her family. She especial enjoyed the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Jacob (Viola) Vierheller; three brothers, Anthony Cercone and his wife, Irene, Vincent Rondinella and his wife, Evelyn, and Theodore Rondinella and his wife, Mary; dear sisters-in-law, Tonetta Cercone and Joann Rondinella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Alan Casimir, three brothers and four sisters.

Services for Clara will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.

Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, with a Christian Wake Service held that evening at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing to honor Clara’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Immaculate Conception Church Memorial Book Fund or Cemetery Fund and Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
