Christy L. Mackey

Christy L. Mackey, 49, of Gnadenhutten, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison after a 15 month battle with cancer. Born June 23, 1965 in Zanesville, she was a daughter of Edmond and Ora Lee (Adams) Zwick of Tuscarawas.

A resident of Tuscarawas and Gnadenhutten for most of her life, Christy was a 1983 graduate of Indian Valley North High School and member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. On April 27, 1985, she married Scott Mackey with whom she enjoyed over 29 years of marriage. She was a devoted and loving wife to Scott and mother to their 4 children, Tesla, Jake, Garrett and Nethan Mackey, all of the home. Christy’s life revolved around her family, and she took great pride in supporting them throughout their school and sporting events. Christy also is survived by her siblings, Rose Zwick of Dover, Dan (Ada) Zwick of Georgia, Anne (fiancé, Alan Bliss) Hart of Kimbolton, Sharon (Tim) Kalp of Strasburg, Katy Zwick of Tuscarawas and Amy Zwick of West Lafayette; parents-in-law, Robert and Linda Mackey of Sherrodsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A memorial service, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 23, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her family, in care of the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, 26 Grant St., Dennison, OH 44621-1269 to help defray the cost of her medical expenses.
