Christine Rose Alfano, 77, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, following a period of declining health.
Born September 14, 1932 in Tippecanoe, O., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Thompson) Coventry.
Christine was the loving wife of Dominic “Sam” Alfano to whom she was married on October 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2005. They are survived by two daughters, Mrs. David (Anna) Beckley of New Philadelphia and Mrs. Ralph (Kathy) Allen of Uhrichsville; three grandchildren, David Beckley and his wife, Stacy, of New Philadelphia, Todd Beckley and his wife, Keira, of Richlands, N.C., and Mrs. Cortney (Jaclyn) Mullen of New Philadelphia; six great grandchildren, Landon, Chase, Cole and Avery Beckley, and Dominic and Jensys Mullen; three stepgranddaughters; and six step great grandchildren.
Christine is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Carmella Parcell and Rose Silke, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Alfano; a sister, Margaret Welch; and three brothers, Kenny, Craig and Harry Coventry.
In addition to being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Christine had also worked at FabOhio for nearly twenty years until her retirement in the 90’s. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison who enjoyed sewing, reading and working word puzzles.
Services for Christine, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Those wishing to honor Christine’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Immaculate Conception Church.
