Charlotte Patricia "Patty" Baird

Charlotte Patricia “Patty” Baird, 90, of New Philadelphia, formerly a longtime Pennsylvania resident, passed away at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville on Friday, March 11, 2016. Born July 15, 1925 in Mahaffey, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late James Ford Trimble and Mary Janetta “Nettie” (Davis) Gates-Trimble.

On October 26, 1946, Charlotte married Wendell “Gov” Baird with whom she shared nearly 47 years of marriage until his passing on April 25, 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Sara “Janie” Pawelczyk; grandchildren, Victoria Trimble-Bente, Vanessa (Scott) Shepherd, Traci Miller, John Pawelczyk, Rebecca (Luke) Hoobler, Jennifer (Greg) Provenzano, Angie (Bernie) Elliott and Natalie Baird; sister, Pauline Baird; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Shandra Buterbaugh who was like a niece to her. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sons, John Clark Trimble and Claude “Woody” Baird, and brothers, Orrin and Claude Gates.

A graduate of Purchase Line High School, Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had also worked as a housekeeper. In her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

In keeping with Charlotte’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. She will be interred with her husband in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Weirton.
