Bill especially enjoyed raising beautiful produce which he then shared with his many friends and neighbors. He was a longtime member of the Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church.

On August 29, 1953, Bill married Doris June (Dickey) McCauley and enjoyed nearly fifty years of marriage with her until her passing on September 22, 2002. Bill and June are survived by their six children, Charles Douglas Dunlap of Stone Lake, Wis., Vicki (Martin) Yoder of Mt. Eaton, Gary (Marianne) Norman of The Villages, Fla., Carolyn (Denny) Jones of Leesville Lake, Rick (Carolyn) Norman of Uhrichsville, and Jill (Larry) Harer of Newark, O.; seventeen grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his brother, J. Howard McCauley of Wellsville, O., and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack E. Norman; a brother, Merle McCauley; two sisters, Margaret Clinton and Jean Overschlake; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Services for Bill, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Those wishing to honor Bill’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Holmes County and the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.
