Charles Eugene Storrie, Jr., 77, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover, Ohio, after a period of declining health. Born October 20, 1948 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Charles Eugene and Evelyn Marie (Meechan) Storrie.
After his 1967 graduation from New Philadelphia High School, Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972 stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. A lifelong area resident, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia. Chuck was employed by Timken in New Philadelphia for 32 years until his retirement in 1999. He then enjoyed two retirement careers, first spending eight years with OSS Security, then finally ten years as a van driver for the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.
Chuck was a member of the Tuscarawas V.F.W. Post #7943 and a Life Member of the Tusco Rifle Club. He was an avid Bigfoot researcher who had also enjoyed fur trapping in his younger years. Chuck loved spending time with his family and with his many cats and dogs over the years.
On April 25, 1970 in Charleston, South Carolina, Chuck married the former Marva Joan Belknap with whom he celebrated 55 years of loving marriage last year. He is also survived by their children, Wendy (Daniel) Burroway and Charles (Jennie) Storrie, III; grandchildren, Alexander Burroway, Arista Burroway, Charles “Chase” Storrie, IV and Chelsea Storrie; his brother, Timothy (Carolyn) Storrie; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Shannon (Rick) Kerns, Heather Storrie, and Steven Storrie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, John Allen Storrie.
Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring Chuck’s memory may be made to Traditions Hospice, the Tuscarawas County Humane Society and the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound.
