Charles William Riley, 91, of Dennison, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville. Born October 12, 1924 in Midvale, he was the son of the late Clarence Melvin and Lucy Olavine (Sauers) Riley.
After attending Midvale High School, Charles proudly served his country in the Army during World War II as a combat engineer. Upon returning home, he began his long career in the local claypipe industry, working for Royal Sewerpipe, Robinson Clay and U.S. Concrete.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Fay (McCluskey) Riley, with whom he celebrated 70 years of loving marriage on October 26, 2015; sisters-in-law, Mary K. Barnabi, Lois (Jim) Huff and Betty Bergquist; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Louise Riley and Wanda Kay Liggett.
According to Charles’ wishes, he will be cremated without a public visitation or service. Burial will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
