Charles Marty, Jr.

Charles Marty, Jr., 86, of Dennison, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born July 14, 1930 in Barnhill, he was a son of the late Charles Earl and Mary M. (Russell) Marty.

On June 3, 1950, Charles married the former Margaret A. “Peg” Carter with whom he enjoyed nearly 59 years of marriage until her passing on February 5, 2009. They are survived by their children, Deborah (Jeff) Ames, Chuck (Nancy) Marty, Gretchen (Dan) Aman and Dave (Vickie) Marty; grandchildren, Travis (Nicole) Arnold, Heather Camp, Trent (Maggie) Marty, Jessica Camp and Shasta (Jonathon) Siepker; and great-granddaughters, Cara Pitkins, Dakota Hay, Wren Siepker and Christopher Camp. He is also survived by siblings, John (Jackie) Marty and Anlee Welker, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Megan Marty and Dwaine Ames, and sister and brothers-in-law, June and Ernie Reed and Dave Welker.

In keeping with Charles’ wishes, he has donated his body to medical study and a memorial service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
