Charles Leroy Grandison

Charles Leroy Grandison, 74, of Dennison passed away unexpectedly in his home on June 20, 2021. Born September 18, 1946 in Dennison, he was a son of the late David Sr. and Gloria Jean (Johnson) Grandison.

Charlie graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1964 and went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. Upon returning home he began his career at Reeves Steel Mill and retired in 1995.

In his spare time he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, golfing, and camping at Twin Hill’s campground with his companion, Ima Stansbery. Charlie was a member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. and Uhrichsville Eagles.

On April 22, 1966 he married Cheryl Lynn Seevers who preceded him in death on January 4, 2018. They are survived by their children, Charles D. (Tanna) Grandison, Jneanne (Ron) Hacker, and Stacy (Jason) Miller; grandchildren, Cody (Stephanie) Grandison, Justan (Kayla) Grandison, Wesley Grandison, Tara Gintz, Kara Grandison, Nicholas Hacker, Lucas Miller and McKenzie Miller; and great-grandchildren, Mayleigh Gintz, Maverick Sampson, Brynlee, Harper, and Benson Grandison; sister, Anna (Garry) Arnold; sisters-in-law, Karla Grandison, Sandy (Mike) McBride, and Kim (David) Kurzinsky; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charlie was preceded in death by a brother, Rusty Grandison and a nephew, Garry Arnold.

His family will receive callers on Wednesday, June 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. A private, family graveside service is planned in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
