Charles Eugene “Chuck” Colaner, 80, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born January 30, 1941 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Louis Michael and Anna (George) Colaner.
A lifelong area resident, Chuck was a 1959 graduate of Uhrichsville High School who attended Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. He worked several years at the former Warner and Swasey, then served 7 years as an Ohio State Highway Patrolman stationed at the Mount Vernon and New Philadelphia posts before returning to Gradall from which he retired after 25 years of combined employment.
Chuck will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, the former Norene Starr Staneart with whom he celebrated 60 years of loving marriage last year, having been married on June 11, 1960; their sons, Chuck (Paula) Colaner and Larry (Angela) Colaner; grandchildren, Erik, Adam, Kurtis, Rachel, Ashlee, Dillion, Macenzie, Ashley, Anna, David Jr., Katelyn, and Jamie; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons; brothers, Lawrence P. Colaner, Ronald D. (companion, Maryanne) Colaner, and James L. Colaner; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David A. Colaner, Sr., and a brother, David Colaner.
According to Chuck’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
